Ellen was first introduced to yoga in 2003 in a hot, sweaty power yoga class of over one hundred practitioners in Santa Monica, CA.  In the midst of this crowd, she first discovered calm in challenge and breath in movement.  Five years later, with profound insight from her teachers Alison West of Yoga Union and Michel Swornik, her practice and her classes continue to evolve, with mindfulness to detail, alignment, breath and prana, and the teachings and discipline of yoga in the traditions of Master Patanjali, Sri Krishnamacharya, and BKS Iyengar.  She loves her practice and hopes to share the peace, strength, and joy she has discovered in herself and the world through discipline of yoga.

Samantha West began practicing yoga as a teenager, guided by books and her own intuition. She completed her 500hr teacher training through Yogaworks in 2008. She is a student of ISHTA yoga(Integrated Science of Hatha, Tantra and Ayurveda), her primary teachers being Alan Finger and Jean Koerner. Sam has a strong understanding of the subtle body and the tools available to balance it. When students learn how to use yoga to balance their unique constitution, profound healing and evolution commences. She is known for her intelligent hands-on adjustments, guiding students deeper in their self-exploration. In her classes, a strong physical practice releases the body and creates a confident posture. Pranayama (breathing techniques) and meditations are also incorporated. Sam is very grateful to her Teachers and Debbie who inspire and nurture, and her students, whom become her number one teachers!
