“There is a duality in the yoga teacher training program, which has not only taught me the fundamentals and practice for the translation of Hatha yoga to others, but has opened an inner teaching within myself where I am learning self-awareness and a gentle approach to patience.”
- Jaimie Boulter
“Debbie balances the principles of yoga in her teaching method, creating a robust and
interesting approach to passing on all the aspects that create a great yoga teacher. Debbie gracefully dances along the line between teacher and friend. Utterly approachable, wonderfully friendly, and highly knowledgeable, I consider myself lucky to have had the opportunity to train
with her. For me, the teacher training program is a a catalyst for infinite possibilities mentally, physically, and spiritually.”
- Shanna White

Anatomy & Physiology

One of the most important tools to being a successful yoga teacher is having a deep understanding of the human body and how it works. In this course you will learn the western and eastern interpretations of the body and how to use this knowledge to deepen your teaching capacity.

Teaching Methodology

Not every student learns the same way, it is very important as a yoga teacher that you have knowledge on the philosophy of learning. You will also learn the qualities of being a good teacher and how to approach your students.

Asanas/Poses

Yoga poses effect the body in different ways and every body is different. You will learn how to give an accurate explanation of each asana and the variations needed to make each student feel comfortable yet challenged. You will also learn how to move your class from pose to pose in a seamless and graceful manner.

Sanskrit

The original language of yoga is Sanskrit. In this course you will gain the knowledge of Sanskrit names for the Asanas you are teaching and other key phrases used in yoga.

History and Philosophy of Yoga

Come on a journey from the origin of yoga to yoga in modern times. This section of the course is taught passionately with movies, presentations and fun stories.

The Business of Yoga

Now that you know how to teach it is important that you learn how to get started. This part of the course is set up as an apprenticeship. Students will spend one on one time with Debbie throughout the day and learn what it takes to generate students and manage your personal yoga business.

Practicum

After the first week of school you’ll begin teaching mini yoga classes. These classes will give you the opportunity to get feedback about your teaching from your peers. You also gain the experience of teaching a real yoga class and the situations that arise.

Voice Lessons

One of the most powerful tools a yoga teacher has is their voice. You will learn how to conserve, project and make your voice sound good too.
